Sunday Sweets: WHO LOVES YA?!

To be honest, peeps, I wasn't going to do Doctor Who Sweets this weekend, only because I've already featured most of the best ones over the years.
But then I came to my senses.
After all, I grew up on Doctor Who. My first convention ever was a Doctor Who event - where John Pertwee patted my head - and a few months ago I received a side-hug from my favorite Doctor, Peter Davison. [Still squeeing over that, btw.]
Besides, John and I managed to find a few 'Who Sweets we haven't posted yet, so you get the ultimate Best-Of mix sure to make your knees go all wibbly-wobbly. So, without further ado:
The 13 Best Doctor Who Cakes Of All Time (So Far!):
(By Nerdache Cakes)
Much as I adore Tigger, I'm kinda bummed I can't make a "Doctor POOH" joke here. But that's ok; Piglet in a homemade Dalek costume MORE than makes up for it.
And speaking of Daleks:
(By Stacked Cakes)
WOW.
The 'net is full of so many fantastic TARDIS cakes, it's hard to narrow down the best ones.
Actually, I take that back; this one wasn't hard to narrow down at all:
(By Leigh Henderson of theyrecoming.com)
This cake (yes, it's cake!) is fitted with mirrors and lights to make it actually look bigger on the inside.
Here's a peek inside the window:
Time for a cookie break!
(Sub'd by Christina C. and made by Cookie Cowgirl)
Daleks in party hats. YESSS.
And who's the cutest widdle alien fat particle of all time?
(Found here, baker unknown)
IT'S YOU!
(No, not YOU you. I mean the adipose. Um. Awkwarrrd.)
As a Classic Who girl, these guys were always my favorite villains:
(By Truly Scrumptious Designer Cakes)
Still can't get over how cute she managed to make a Cyberman look, though. I seriously want that cake in doll form!
And now for something a little steamy:
If you think about it, Steampunk and Doctor Who really are a match made in the heavens, am I right?
And while we're talking TARDISes TARDI TARDIS cakes, I love the galaxy airbrushing on this one:
(Made by Claudia's Cakery)
It takes a lot to fool me with cake these days, but this next one did. I *still* have a hard time believing it's not a wooden model:
(Sub'd by Kristy G. and found here)
Even if you've only watched Doctor Who since the reboot, I bet you still have a soft spot for Tom Baker:
(Sub'd by Emily G. and made by Border City Cakes)
It's all about the scarf, right? And the crazy hair.
(I'm, uh, glad the baker went with the scarf, though. o.0)
And another excellent contribution from the original show:
(By Imaginative Icing)
K-9!
Sometimes you see a fan-built K-9 rolling around at conventions, and I so want one.
Even though I grew up on the show, I'm ashamed to admit I have a LOT of catching up to do with the new episodes. (Too many were making me cry!) I will catch up, though - I WILL.
Anyway, if you're in the same boat - or if you've never seen ANY episodes and just want to know what all the fuss is about, then at least watch the episode "Blink." It's quite possibly the best episode of any sci-fi show EVER, and stands alone just fine.
Plus, after you watch that, you'll know why everyone else is about to flinch away from their screens in terror:
(By the cake girl)
BOO!
Muahahahaha! :D
Ok, one more, just so we can end on a less petrifying [smirk] note:
(By Michelle Sugar Art)
Woohoo! It's a WHO-bilation!
(In my mind Doctor Seuss & the Doctor are friends, so that totally works.)
Enjoy the 50th anniversary special, my fellow Whovians, and have a Sweet weekend!

LOVE!!!
It's absolutely perfect that in this wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey world, the Dr. Who Sunday Sweets went up on a Saturday.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to scope out the best seat in the house for watching "The Day of the Doctor" tonight.
But it's only Saturday... =^?.?^=
These are fabulous! I absolutely adore the K-9 cake -- WANT! And the work that went into all the stripes on the scarves. And the dalek-in-party-hats-with-blowticklers cookies. And the last one with party hats on the dalek and K-9. And the TARDIS cakes. And the first cake -- Piglet as a dalek, the adorable homemade TARDIS and Tigger dressed as Dr. Who-Who-Who-Who! And. And. Whew!
Jen and john (thoJ), thank you for making my Saturday AND Sunday sweet! You guys are the best!
These are awesome! But I am now all confused as it's only Saturday right??
To quote the Doctor, "Fantastic!!"
๐๐๐๐
I'm *still* not blinking.
Wait a minute. Sunday Sweets on Saturday? TIME PARADOX!!!
YAY! I am so excited for today! I'm super happy you posted this because my family thinks I'm crazy because I love Doctor Who so much. GO DOCTOR WHO! :)
Awesome! Thanks for posting these :) I'm a huge Dr. Who fan although I've only seen the reboot. Can't wait for today's 50th Anniversary Special!
Dear God! How long did I sleep? And I had important plans on Saturday.
Glad it isn't just me... I actually looked at my calendar to verify the day! I like the cake wrecks, I don't even look at the Sunday offerings. I guess I might check back tomorrow!
"That which holds the image of an Angel becomes itself an Angel".
So if the cake is an angel and I eat the cake.....
I mean I'm holding it kinda in my stomach....
what will I become?
I too ish y could have made a Dr Pooh joke. That would have made an incredible day (Sunday Sweets in a Saturday) even incredibler. Thank you for adding to my Who excitement.
The adipose is too cute to eat! I want one!!!
Doctor Suess and Doctor Who are definitely friends. I've always thought so.
Today's (Saturday 11/23) Google Doodle is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Dr.Who--and it's ANIMATED!
Check it out-it's even INTERACTIVE! ! !
{I had submitted this on today's comments, not realizing that it was tomorrow already~or yesterday!}
Thanks for the early Dr. Who post! When I was a kid my parents would only allow us to watch PBS on TV so that is when my Dr. Who obsession started. I bought myself a long striped scarf that I wore for a while (with EVERYTHING!) But my favorite Dr. has always been Peter Davison too. Haven't seen the reboot. Will have to check that out. And I agree...the baker totally missed the mark by not making a Dr. Pooh! That would have been the best pun in the history of CW.
Sunday Sweets on Saturday? Cakes from episodes I've never seen despite the fact that I used to sometimes watch Doctor Who with my parents? The two most epic people who start with Doctor?
This post is most definetely exactly what I have always wished for. I just never knew it.
Okay, somebody needs to make a cake with Doctor Who AND Doctor Suess theme. Tis the perfect combination!
.....so.....what do we get tomorrow? ุsruoS yadrutaS
Can't even begin to say how amazing these cakes are.
You forgot one! http://blog.pinkcakebox.com/doctor-anniversary-tardis-cake-2013-11-22.htm
Here's my TARDIS cake that I made for a co-worker. http://instagram.com/p/e0neyBzfyb/
I'm hoping you've seen the BBC America 50th Anniversary cake: http://www.thatsnerdalicious.com/nerd-cakes/see-the-cake-that-bbc-america-commissioned-for-the-doctor-who-50th-anniversary/#!ovIa5
You don't need to make a Doctor Pooh joke. It's clearly Doctor Who-hoo-hoo-hoo!!
My gut reaction was to stare at the Weeping Angel cake for at least a good minute before I even realized what I was doing. Happy 50th! Enjoy the episode!
That first cake is based on a t-shirt graphic by "Cubik". It's past its original sale, so is now quite expensive, but still available at Redbubble.
There's also a shirt with "Dr Pooh", showing the bear with #4's hat and scarf. :)
Glad I'm not the only one who checked to make sure I didn't lose a day! On a quick vacation to see my girl this weekend. We are headed to visit my mom's grave here shortly. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers guys!
Thanks Jen and john (thoJ) for adding this awesome treat to my weekend!
Weeping Angels, even as cake, really freak me out.
I actually read this and went;; OMG ITS SUNDAY WHY AM I AT WORK O_O then i looked at my calendar to make sure and have spent the last five minutes laughing at myself and ooh and ahhing over the cakes. I love them.. except the scream-y teeth-y one.. it looks scary..but it is wonderfully made i'll give you that.. and i have no idea what the reference is to Dr Who.. cause i've not watched it yet ( i have this thing.. i want to go back to the VERY FIRST and watch those..and then move my way up.. cause well i'm weird and i dont have netflix currnetly so im not gonna do ti lol)
If "Blink" is scarier than "The Empty Child," there is NO WAY I'm going to watch it! Loved the cakes, though!
Those look amazing, I cannot believe some of those are cake :O I agree, the little fat guy is adorable
Absolutely amazing. The first cake is just adorable. Really love the cupcakes. I think I traveled in time in the Tardis because I am in Saturday instead of Sunday.
My phone won't let me post a comment on epbot but here is (hopefully) a link for you to a fun turkey day craft:
A thanksgiving food craft - paper turkey stuffed with popcorn. Great craft for kids and they can eat the popcorn while waiting for dinner to be ready
Sunday Sweets a day early?!?! even sweeter!!!
Benedict Cumberbatch as a weeping angel? How cool is that?
I have only see the Pertwee & Baker years, but love Davison from his work on All Creatures Great & Small. To me, Dr Who will always be Pertwee & Baker! Great cakes. Thanks for the memory trip.
Be careful with posting such dangerous images! Remember that which holds the image of an angel, it itself becomes an angel. So delete all pictures. Scroll down. Don't turn away, and DON'T. BLINK. Good luck.
Great list!
We literally just created a TARDIS cake for the 50th Anniversary of the 'Doctor Who' series! BBC America commissioned the cake and more photos are available here.
Today's (Saturday 11/23) Google Doodle is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Dr.Who--and it's ANIMATED!
AND interactive~you can make it do things! Quite the little Whoodle Doodle...
=^-.-^=
Even though my birthday is tomorrow and not today, I'll take the TARDIS cake that's bigger on the inside and then one of the Dalek-in-party-hats cookies (hey, it's MY 50th too!), ;P
AWESOME CAKES! That is all. (Well, ok, almost all...)
@Jen - I, too, am WAY behind for the same reason! The old ones had their fair share of death but it was less gory and I think the body count was at least a wee bit lower...of course, a friend of mine and I *just* got out of Catching Fire and we were emotional wrecks, even though we'd read the books! At one point, she squeezed my hand so hard it went numb! But then I did the same to her (by accident, I swear!), so I'm calling it even. ;-)
SO. AWESOME! Piglet's Dalek costume is squee-out-loud adorable, and the last cake is totally fabulous. They all are. Thanks for posting Sunday Sweets a day early.
I see what she's doing! Since today's post was a sci-fi themed, she's trying to make us feel like we're in the middle of a "Twilight Zone" episode by posting the Sunday Sweets on a Saturday! Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo! (That's supposed to be the Twilight Zone theme!)
Beautiful cakes put my little Dalek cupcakes to shame. BUT I did get to give some to the guests at LI Who a couple of weeks ago, including a certain adorable little Time Lord named Sylvester McCoy. He is such a sweetie. :3 Got to give him a hug at the photo op, too. Oh and I met Peter Davison last year and I'm STILL squeeing over that. *sigh*
So, did you see it? All that and Tom Baker too! You'd have loved it here in the UK yesterday, Doctors everywhere, on the radio, on the TV, big convention up in London, big party after the show aired.
Just love the Doctor Pooh cake!
Tigger is totally more bouncy(...) fun than ever was Pooh, Though the Doctor has done a passing "think think" at times.
Anyway, I'm going to blame this for my thinking it was Saturday, all day Friday.
Speaking of all things wibbly wobbly AND time-y wimey, I saw one of these the other day and totally fell in love. It's not a K-9, but it's still pretty cool:

Alsoo everybody should look these things up on youtube because HOLY CRAP IT SPINS!!
These cakes are awesome - Sunday is now my absolute favorite day of the week <3
The weeping angels are the absolute best villains ever. Blink, yes, my favorite episode. Bravo!
I love it! I wish I had had a Doctor Who cake yesterday. Oh, well, I drank TARDIS tea in my TARDIS mug, so it was all good.
And ever since Angles Take Manhattan, I can't look at the Statue of Liberty the same way! And I live in Brooklyn! There really are a lot of statues, including angel statues, all over the city.
But for the folks wondering about posting the Sunday Sweets on a Saturday, look at the color of this blog! It's TARDIS blue! OF course it's all timey whimey here!
I was a Dr. Who fan before being one was cool. Love me some K-9! And go Iowa! (see link) http://venusianspearmint.wordpress.com/2013/11/13/doctor-whos-american-age-is-pushing-40-because-of-only-one-state/
