How Are You Cat!
(“Hello, kiddies!”)
Looking for something for your train-crazy little boy? He's just like your favorite train character, but he's obviously not your favorite train character, since making a cake of your favorite train character would be technically illegal! He's...
Larry the Liquid-Carrying Locomotive!
(Wow! That’s one tanked engine! You can see how original he is, right?
Aw, c’mon. Don’t be such a Doubting Thomas.)
Ooh! Wait a minute! Who's this sexy -- but completely unrecognizable -- little blue fictional character with blonde hair? That’s not Smurfette, is it?
Of course not! Because that would be Against The Smurfin' Law!
She's "Smurpette" and she's totally different!
"Why don't you take your smurpin' smurp and smurp it where the smurp won't smurp, Smurpes?!"
(See? Totally different!)
He's concerned for your well-being and he's a bear. He's a...
Concerned For Your Well-Being Bear!

And finally, this absolutely unique character lives in a pie tin beneath the waves, and he’s safe for your non-stick pots and pans! He's...
Squeeze Blob No-Scratch!
(Anybody have some spare pants?)
Just remember, bakers: When in doubt, eat the evidence.

'how are you cat' looks more like 'Ruby' from 'max and ruby'- but then again,
It could've been a different over weight rabbit?
Oh. My. Gosh!
THANK YOU for my birthday laughs!!!
They were smurpin' awesome 8D
Oh, this was the BEST round-up I've seen in Cake Wrecks so far this year. Priceless. Once again, I hit the "I-can't-breathe" level of laughter. And, truth be told, I at first thought the Smurpette cake was supposed to be a female Cookie Monster. Yes. Cookie Monster in DRAG. Yikes!
Ok, every time your post shows on my FB page I immediately click, view in horror, and laugh. Until today. Today I laughed so hard I cried. And, then I read the comments. And I laughed at all of them. Seriously, seriously, funny. Not only is your team exceptionally creative, your commenters are hilarious. Your next book should be the comments you get about the pictures. OMG. I went through all of my McD's napkins that came with my lunch. I can't read this again or I won't have anything to wipe my eyes. Keep 'em coming. All your posts are great. :)
I have to agree with Erica - I recognized that train as a very bad rendering of a Chuggington. And as for the cat, I don't think it's a cat at all. It has a very strong resemblance to Ruby from Max and Ruby. She's a rabbit!
Okay, took me quite a while to see the actual face on the train wreck. And then like most horrific accidents I really wanted to look away to avoid nightmares but I just couldn't help myself. Luckily I was drawn away by the radioactivity of Smurpette's (if that is her REAL name) hair.
Why is Smurpette wearing a slice of Wonder Bread?
May I just say that I'm very glad I was already in college when the first of these characters (the REAL ones, not the very sad knock-offs) was created, so my childhood has NOT been ruined. At least not by THIS submission...there have been plenty of other cake wrecks that have messed with my fondest childhood memories!
Lol at today's post. Poor not Hello Kitty. Someone took off with the rest of her/its body. Larry the liquid carrying locomotive lol love that name. Plus my dad's name is Larry so I couldn't stop laughing for quite some time. Thank you for the laughs :)
Brilliant, thanks for making me laugh!
Smurfette looks like Smurfette Squarepants!
@ Monica ~ Haven't you ever gone so long without doing laundry that there's nothing left in the house to wear but Wonder Bread?
@ Sharyn ~ Can the pen be made of chocolate?
"My name is Sherry Bobbins." "Did you say Mary Pop-" "No! I'm an original character, like Rickey Rouse or Monald Muck." Aaaah, Simpsons. :)
It took me several looks, but Larry the Liquid-Carrying Locomotive was actually three dimensional. Looking at him and putting the dimensions back in, it makes more sense. That's a jelly-roll cake with his face on the end and the smokestack on the top of it. Still, the most horrid color combinations imaginable - it does look like moldy bread.
I remember when I was little, there was an event at my local YMCA, where there was an appearance from "Darney, the friendly dinosaur." I was so happy.
The first one actually looks like Ruby from "Max and Ruby" on Nickelodeon, with a bugger.
I thought the train cake was a teenage mutant ninja turtle... Wow...
You were great, Sharyn. :)
Have you noticed how all but Larry are that abomination known as (shudder) CUPCAKE-CAKES? The horror, oh the horror...
great post - so funny! Love, love, love you Sharyn, please write more...
Am I the only one who thinks that the care bear cake looks like Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean) ?
My kids watch Thomas the train all the time, but when my five year old saw that Thomas I asked her what it was. She stared, squinted, and finally said "Ummm...a chair?"
Out of the mouths of babes.......
Eat The Evidence. Why does that sound familiar.... ;D
I see that first cake and think of the Hetalia World Series episode where the dragon is creeped out by Hello Kitty and draws a mouth on it.
The "How Are You Cat" cake made me laugh, being a Hello Kitty fan (I'm writing this in my Hello Kitty pajamas). It was an easy guess as to who this was, but when I wore my Hello Kitty ears for Halloween this past October, I had to tell people at work who I was every time they said "Allison, your ears are adorable! Who are you supposed to be?". Try getting so despondent that you inform people, "I'm Hello Kitty, dammit!"(I wanted to say, "I'm Friggin Hello Kitty!" but didn't want to sound touchy). These cakes are just...well...um...I would have been upset if any of them were mine growing up.
Am I the only one that thinks the Concerned-for-your-well-being-bear looks like it could kill you in your sleep? I'm not? Okay, good.
@Sam - It haunts my dreams! In fact, I'm sure people have died dreaming of this bear.
I hate to tell you guys this, but "BCI" also stands for "Booty Call Implication". Oops!
Thanks for Sharyn!
How Are You Cat! Well, I'm off to bleach my eyes.
