What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Pool Wars

"If you only knew the POWER [squeak] of the Dark Side. JOIN ME [squeak] and we can [squeeeeak] RULE the... [squeaksqueaksqueakSPLASH!]

"I find your lack of balance...disturbing.

"Towel?"

Thanks to Angel K. for the splishin' and the splashin'.

Imagining all the [squeak]s made me laugh out loud. Not just a little chuckle, but full-blown HAHAHAHAHA! I so needed that today - thank you!

Dammit! My hubby keeps asking why I'm laughing when I come here, and he's not satisfied by the answer'I'm just looking at cakes. Funny cakes'. You can hear how that sounds to the uninitiated, right? For this Pool Party Darth, I'm actually smothering my giggles behind my hands, and alternately wiping my eyes.

TechyDad wins the interwebs!!
@Rhissanna- "Pool Party Darth" I nearly wet myself laughing!!

The only thing that would be cuter would be Darth Vader holding a baby girl... ;)

Does ANYONE know the back story on this one?

Ha, anything star wars related is awesome. We're currently making a data visualisation on star wars, would love some of this cake whilst putting it together

Okay I actually dig this one. It's so insane that it must be intentionally wrecky. Looks like a kid asked for this design and was probably delighted.

Then again you know what my kid does with cake so maybe I'm biased to the weird. :D

All we need to make it completely realistic is Leah in a bikini, C3PO with a drink tray and R2D2 with a beach umbrella sticking out of his head.

Wow! I didn't have the internet for a while and look what I missed! I (Angel W, not K) decorated this cake at an Albertson's I work for.

A lady called and placed an order saying that her son wanted Star Wars figures but also a pool on his cake. She laughed, knowing how ridiculous that sounded. After some thought I came up with this little gem. I was quite pleased and I hope the customer was as well. She had no idea what I had planned. I really hope the little boy was super psyched to see it!

I'm giggling at all of the comments. I knew this crowd would appreciate it as much as I did :)
