Totally Awesome
May 2, 2011 "Bakers, it has come to our attention that 'morale' is 'low.' Therefore, effective immediately, we will be instituting mandatory staff meetings every Friday at 3pm to get to the bottom of this problem.
During these meetings you will each be required to list at least one 'awesome' thing about working here. Susan, GO."

My most awesome things are seeing my grandchildren, decorating cakes, going to the beach, riding my motorcycle, and my daily dose of Cake Wrecks. Some things just take your breath away.

I'm a midwife, and one of my very favorite things is the look on a new mom's face right after her baby is born when she looks at this new little person but hadn't quite realized that it is real. So beautiful!
my favorite thing is taking a hot shower in a cold bathroom. the second you open the shower curtain that is holding in all the nice wam steam and the cold air from the outside the shower curls in. better than coffee.
You know what is really awesome? Flour. Yes. I'm serious. You can make it into bread, into sweets, coat things in it, batter them up... and you know, make cakes sometimes too. Flour. Yeah!

Cabane a sucre 'tire sur la neige'. That is to say, boiled down maple syrup poured on fresh snow. Wait a few seconds then twirl it up on a popsicle stick. Voilà! A maple syrup 'lollipop'. Make sure you have dental coverage before trying one...

It's always encouraging to see how eager people are to acknowledge the good things.
Ok now I have seen everything. A Hello Kitty themed caramel apple that would frighten the kids lol. Wow it really looks just about what I figured it would with caramel oozing out. Poo swirls must be the favorite of the wreckerators since I see them alot lol.
Totally Awesome would be a world where we take joy in giving something to others rather than getting something. But maybe I'm just weird that way...
My favourite awesome thing was after losing all my possessions thanks to the floods in Queensland, Australia earlier this year, I had an extremely wonderful person replace one of my favourite book series for me for free. And then a second person replaced the second series of books from the same thing for free. (I lost 467 books in the flood. Pretty much my entire collection)
I know it's not quite a typical awesome thing but random acts of kindness sort of kept me going.
I am so thankful for Thai food. That and limes. Mmmm. I think being pregnant just intensifies my enjoyment. Awesome.

Awesome is when my newborn baby vomits up some breast milk but then swallows it again - don't waste it!
Every morning I get off the bus in downtown and pass in front of this new country restaurant. (I live in Nashville, TN) Every morning the smell of smoked bacon fills the street on my walk to work. OMG is that AWESOME!
Going to bed on a chilly night with a hot water bottle is probably one of the most awesome things ever!!!

Making the last tuition payment for my daughter who is graduating from Wellesley this month.
Awesome? Finding bird poop on your umbrella and realizing that the umbrella just saved your formal-wear!
Finding a pair of socks for roller derby that I wanted sooooo bad, but couldn't bring myself to pay $8 for, and then coming back 6 months later to find them on clearance for $2. WINNING!!

It's awesome when I'm having a really bad migraine and my husband moves heaven and hell to provide me with chocolate, coffee, and pills to help. He's awesome. He hates my smoking but understands that it helps the headaches and will actually go out and buy me a pack if I need it.
