Babel Fish Needed

You know that optical illusion that looks like an old woman one way, and a young girl the other?
Well, this cake is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike that.
So far I've assembled a list of 42 different words that this might be, including "@Loehoe," "Soekuc,"and "Slartibartfast." And yes, so far as I know, this is supposed to be "English."
Anyway, I've given up.
In fact, I can't help but be impressed by this individual's cryptography skills. Hey NSA, I've got your next Enigma machine right here! Think about it: for the cost of a piping bag and some chocolate, you'll never have to fear Wikileaks again. Eh?
So long, Jackie W., and thanks for all the fish.
Achtung!!! Es tut mir leid; Ich bin eine Sachertorte! Fahrvergnügen! Neenër neenër!

I'll sit in the trench with the others who see "seeker" as that was what I thought before deciding to look at what other commenters were saying
that definitely says seeker
here I am, brain the size of a planet, and I can't read that...I'm not getting you down at all, am I?
-Barbara Anne
(whose two favorite off world characters share a name ("I'm going to pulverize you with my pulverizer!"))
Let's just paint it pink and put a SEP field around it, OK? We could do that with ALL the epcots.
Solder?
Looks to me like "Seeker"
So far all I can come up with is Lady/hoe lmao. Without getting a headache. Just put some daisies on it and maybe the customer won't notice a thing.
Maybe they just iced out a wv: mine is ropresn.... see?
In my native language, it reads "Go stick your head in a pig."
the first letter looks like @ to me, i'm completly lost with the rest
Glad I checked back again today -- love the postscript.
But I never knew that JFK worked as a baker at VW.
Ach du lieber!
wv: undexao
German for "and former spouse is Taio Cruz (or Ed McMahon)"
Great -- now both "Dynamite" and "Alohoa Oe" are running through my head!
I think it says save me I look like crap
Seeker
Dude, what is up with all the "Sacher" Epcoters? Jen, I swear you take bets on how many people will try to correct you in a single post.
I'm sorry. All you who say it's supposed to be "sacher" are just plain wrong.
I'm going with the elementary school students who said it's "Loeber".
I could also maybe see "Soebuc."
I know! It's a WV cake!
I think this may be my favorite comment thread of all time.
Happy 42nd birthday to those celebrating this glorious occasion. I hope your birthday parties were not crashed by Vogons intent on poetically serenading you. I also hope Zaphod did not decide to autograph your birthday cake.
But as long as you know where your towels are, you'll always be hoopy froods to me!
It has to be "Sacher"--you can tell by the font that they used :)
And this post, my friends, is why I read cake wrecks. Adams FTW.
There's a lot of "The Informant" on here (see previous post...). I still think they are all wrong though. I mean, who writes the cake type on there? I guess this IS CW but still...
My theory, the decorator sneezed while thinking about the next tweet he/she was going to post. @<^>_S Is about all I got out of that...
I believe it says "sober". Clearly a message conceived after the Wreckerator indulged in one too many jinnan tonnyx.
"Joeker"?? That's my best guess.
~Frood who really knows where her towel is.
Definitely Seeehoe. Don't you all SEE that? Sheesh.
"Note!!! I'm sorry; I am a Sachertorte! Driving pleasure! Neenër neenër!"
What does this mean? Seriously? I translated your update at the bottom and this is what I got!
My dad used to make the most incredible Sacher torte with a hard caramel top; unfortunately, the one he made for my brother's bar mitzvah was so hard we actually had to shatter it with a hammer.
He's never made it since. *sob*
Well, if you tilt your head to the right, and tilt the picture of the cake to the left, and reallllllllly squint.......yea I still don't get what it says.
I counted FIVE Hitchhiker's references. Bravo! You are truly a frood who knows where her towel is.
Enigma reference?...your coolness lvl just multiplied by 25% in my book, which now places you in the 274th percentile (don't ask to see my formula, unless you can decode Purple) :D
I think it's lover.
I saw Seeker like the first commenter.
VM
I will often turn to the comments if I don't understand a reference or any other part of a post. This always clears up any confusion I have. Today I need someone to explain the post and the comments to me. I don't know what's going on.
This cake says Sacher....as in a Sacher Torte. No, not english. I had to make this in culinary school
Hitchhikers references! +9001 geek points for you!
it's called stenography.
Believe?
Spoil?
Extrimbl?
@Ferralyn-
I agree! I think this cake might be pining for the fjords
Bieber... the decorator (yes decorator, I think this was perfectly intentional) couldn't bring him/herself to actually make it legible... :o)
It's absolutely "Sacher". I came to this without having read the other comments first. My experience as a trained pastry chef and cake decorator, along with my orthographic deciphering skills, leads me to the most logical conclusion that this is most definitely a Sachertorte.
You guys are all wrong. It's german and it says 'Lecker' on it which means 'tasty' or 'delicious' or something like that.
Thank you so much for that Hitchhiker's reference! I am reading the books again right now and am totally in love with everything Hitchiker's related.
Clearly that's a Harry Potter cake celebrating a quidditch match and his debut as Seeker.
wv: undistio, command given by griffindors to brew butterbeer in the bathtub
Sober... someone is definately celebrating being sober, by drunkenly writing sober on a cake.. I'm sure of it !!!
I can't be the only person who sees "Looker" in there, can I? I think we would need the optical version of the Babel Fish to decode it.
And I got into my high school drama club by reciting the Babel Fish section of Hitch-Hikers for my monologue. I had the judges rolling on the floor, particularly since I did the recitation in a British accent just like the book on tape I played to death. I'm originally from West Virginia. It was fabulous.
WV - ciess, as in I ciess this hoopy Ford Prefect. There's a frood who really knows where his towel is.
Yeah. It's "Sacher". The only dessert I can think of that needs to have a nametag.
Actually...if you look closely, it kind of looks like it says "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya...You killed my father. Prepare to die."
Kind of also looks like a hostess cupcake. Which is what I thought it was supposed to be, and not writing at all....but.. No. It's "Sacher"
Yep, it's absolutely 'Twelve.'
My vote is for "spending a year dead for tax reasons"...especially now that it's almost April. :p
Once you've BEEN the answer to life, the universe, and everything, then what?
It actually says "Sacher" and it is the name of the type of cake, a chocolate cake with apricot filling and chocolate glaze, that always has the name on top as decoaration. It is pronouned like "soccer". I made a few in culinary school, they aren't overly pretty, but they're delicious.
Inconceivable !!
Slartibartfast! My new cuss word!
(Or maybe Freddled gruntbuggly)
Read the first few comments.
Sacher huh. Ooooh, that c is so loopy and that h is so squished! And that S needs some manners.
It says "Sacher" It is a torte from Europe ( France? ) that is supposed to be chocolate cake layered with Apricot glaze and covered in Ganache.
