Sunday Sweets: Tour De Force

So you saw what our fabulous tour bakers made for each of our show stops yesterday, but here's what happens when they pull out ALL the stops:
Feast Catering (Atlanta, GA)
The BPA Club did an awesome job with our cakes, of course, but they actually specialize in pastry and chocolate sculptures like these:
BPA Club from Central Piedmont Community College (Charlotte, NC)
I cannot get over how delicate these peonies are! (Or are they daisies?)
A Cake To Remember (Richmond, VA)
I love this graphic punch:
Charm City Cakes (Baltimore, MD)
Two words: WOW. WOW.
Truly Custom Cakery (Philadelphia, PA)
From traditional elegance to modern chic:
A Little Imagination Cakes (Hartford, CT)
Talk about perfection in piping: check out these lines!
The Well Dressed Cake (Boston, MA)
I've tried to feature all wedding cakes so far, but Jenny here specializes in more colorful characters. :D
Geek Sweets (Ottawa, ON, Canada)
More exquisite piping - just look at that monogram!
Wild Cakes (Toronto, ON, Canada)
And another dash of fun modern styling:
Faithfully Cakes (Pittsburgh, PA)
Such sweet little strawberries:
iHeartCakes (Chicago, IL)
And simply striking stripes!
Linet's Cakes (Oklahoma City, OK)
These little pumpkins are just the cutest:
Savor The Moment Bakery (Dallas, TX)
This is the kind of cake that makes me want to bake again: so fun!
It's A Piece Of Cake (Houston, TX)
And how can I resist my favorite color?
Blue Note Bakery (Austin, TX)
And last but not least, this brush embroidery and ruffles are the stuff cool-blue dreams are made of:
Cut The Cake (Orlando, FL)
Hope you enjoyed our extended Sweets today, everyone, and thank you again to all our amazing bakers who helped make the Winter Underlined Tour a wreck-less success!

I am always floored by the wonderful creativity that you post on Sunday. Prepares me for the wrecks the rest of the week.
How sweet :D
The pink and blue winter cake has me transfixed! Gorgeous and whimsical!
Whats with the "chocolate sculpture"? It looks like a pile of cow patties. I'm just saying.
Yep, those are peonies! And the "stucco" texture on that cake? Fan. Tab. U. Lous!
So excited to be included in the amazingness:-) Really great stuff up there!!
Can't wait to see the next time we make it into your Hall of Goodness!!
I'm going to have to agree with the person saying the "chocolate sculpture" looks like cow patties. Otherwise, everything is adorable, but that one just put me off my lunch.
OOH Pretty!
yes peonies and jasmine ,they look too small for stephanotis.
Those are breathtaking! So much ingenuity and unbelievable skill being demonstrated. I am just in awe.
Definitely daisies.
I adore the peonie'd cake from A Cake to Remember. A beautiful, unique fondant-free look! I want that at my wedding (though I'm broke and not engaged...*cough*).
Also, that orange cake--especially the base layers--is stunning.
Hope they won't be offended if they ask how did I find out about them, and I have to reply, "Oh, I saw your cake on Cakewrecks!"
As for the chocolate sculpture, it looks like a tower of cookies and solid chocolate.
Did a regular wreck make it in here by mistake... I mean the chocolate tower>
I vote daisies. Gerber daisies.
Doesn't #12 look just a little like a cell? Not the motif I would want for my wedding, but to each his / her own.
#15 Pleeeease? (The bakery's name immediately set my internal sound track to Average White Band.)
The black and white striped cake could be featured in "The Night Circus"! Love the peony cake too.
Love the orange cake (is it leaning just a little bit?), the flowers on the 3rd cake are peonies.
My favourite has to be the Charm City one :)
I like the decoration on the orange cake, but the shape of it seems a little off-- if they were aiming for a topsy-turvy cake, it's not tilted enough; if they were trying for a regular cake, it looks a bit tilted and off-center. Could just be the photo, though.
And say what you want about the BPA Club sculpture, it looks like a chocolate dessert that is beautiful and at the same time not too fancy to eat.
Sorry, that 2nd one is a cake wreck nonpareil complemented by a lovely orange fascinator.
Ok, I never post, but I had to say it: these have to be the most beautiful wedding cakes ever shown on this website.
Can I get married multiple times to get all these cakes? (And I want the "Strawberry Shortcake" one for my babyshower when I get pregnant with a girl!!)
Peonies, definitely peonies and the little white flowers are phlox. It amazes me the broad spectrum of cakes you show. There's everything from stuff that shouldn't even grace a garbage can to items that look museum quaility. I love it! Great to see you in Pittsburgh!!!
As much as I like the delicate pale blue "embroidered" cake, the one that caught my eye is the one with the draped lavender layer in the middle. I would hang a framed copy of that picture on my wall. It's striking.
actually the little white flowers are bouvardia. phlox is too large and rounded plus, in real life would be too delicate for wedding work. stephanotis is the correct petal shape but too large. :)
I've seen CPPC's competition team at work (not their B&P folks), and I know they have a really good, well-respected culinary program. But yeah...cow patties. Maybe it's just the angle and lighting? Whatever; I'd still eat it, because chocolate.
Lovely stuff all around! I do have to give props to Blue Note Bakery for the cake bars they brought in. The Honey Rum fondant was just TO DIE FOR!! And one doesn't usually say that about fondant. Yummy!
I am in love with that black, white, and blue cake with the red flowers on top. The color combo is amazing and it has that flimsy but sturdy element going on with it that gives it that extra kick. I can't believe that something that beautiful could be eaten at a wedding!
I have to agree with the others...the chocolate sculpture cake looks like stacked cow patties. *blargh* A little wreckery in an otherwise beautiful Sunday Sweets collection hehe
Charlotte Piedmont Community College represent! My hubby took some classes there and I was offered an adjunct position soooooo I am obviously closely connected to that BPA whatchamacallit thingy!
That orange cake absolutely MUST be served in this room:

The Charm City Cakes one may be the most awesome cake I have ever seen. EVER.
I adore the Strawberry Shorcake cake!
The Sunday Sweet ladies of Blue Note Bakery did my wedding cakes! Mine was a simple three-tier, but my Groom's cake was incredible! My husband loves Scrabble, and monkeys. I love Scrabble and penguins. So...we had a sculpted penguin and monkey playing a giant game of Scrabble!. We used the giant super-deluxe board that rotates as the model, and spelled out "WooHoo! Caleb Married Amy Today" in tiles. If I can find a good picture, I'll have to send it in to you :-)
and mylanta those peonies are gorgeous.
very pretty and I think her cake very tasty ..

MORE LIKE TOUR-DI -VORCE!!!!
[Editor's note- HEYO! Wait, what? -john]
OK, the topper on cake #2 is sweet and done with obvious skill but I'm sorry the rest of that cake falls into the wreck division. What's with the leaning tower of precariously perched cow pies? Or should I say, bovine booty biscuits?
WOW!
