Sunday Sweets: Doctor Who

I'm proud to say that I was raised by geeks. Star Trek and Doctor Who were staples in my household, and when I was little my folks even bundled me and my brother off to a Doctor Who event where I got to meet the late Jon Pertwee. At the time, of course, I was more impressed with the full-scale model of the TARDIS control room where I got to push ALL the buttons. Anyhoo, naturally it was only a matter of time until I found enough Whovian Sweets to justify a post. Ready? Here we go...
Presenting the most scrumptious looking Cyberman you will ever see:

This next on isn't actually cake; it's gingerbread. And K9 is looking suh-weet.

Hannah C. found this display at The Cake Shop in Liverpool.
Update from john: This photo just came in from Leigh Henderson of theyrecoming.com. (She's the maker of the infamous thorax cake, so click the link at your own risk!)
Yup. It's cake. And no, she's not a professional. I can't believe it either. But that's not all...
It has an inside! She did it with mirrors and LEDs. Wow. Freakin' wow. (See more insanely detailed progress shots here.)
And did I mention wow?

And now I know what my husband can make me for our anniversary!
They seem impossible
I follow anyone who follows me
This combines two of my favorite things, Doctor Who and Cake! Thanks for sharing!

These cakes are totally freaking sweet. I love Cake Tennant and Freema, and the TARDIS interior of the Cake Police Box is...just incredible. Each and every one was made by a genius! Bravo.
Gah, I love Doctor Who! Between this and the recent Sunday Sweets Harry Potter posts, I'm in nerd heaven.
Sarcasm397: I was named after Tegan Jovonka too! And here I thought I was the only one.
These all are amazing; especially the last one!
Awesome!
Now all we need are Torchwood cakes.
I think 1 of a stopwatch would be good! (If you got that joke, I love you and will you marry me? haha)
highway o' caterpillars, yeah. HA HA HA.
Excuse me, I have to go outside and cry.
I LOVE Doctor Who and that Cyberman is, as Nine would say, fantastic!
I need to find a DW-loving man so that last cake can be our wedding cake. My mom would never approve though---she tried to watch the show one night and said it was "too weird." Yet she can sit through two hours of American Idol auditions. She can have those wailers, I'll take a Time Lord any day of the week!
These cakes are just wonderful. I am a big Doctor Who fan and my jaw dropped. They're just staggeringly beautiful and detailed. Wonderful job bakers, keep doing your goodies in fan art form. I absolutely love you for it.
As a big Doctor fan, this post made me jump up and down in my chair! Awesome cakes! (I now know what suggestive link to send to my husband for my next birthday!)
YAY! This is the BEST post you've EVER DONE!!! I know they're not "wrecks" but who cares!
They're GREAT!!!!!!
I LOVE DOCTOR WHO
Wow, "Who" knew there were so many Dr. Who fans out there? All the nerds are coming out of the closet to express their fan-hood.
If anyone got me a cake from here, I might feint from happiness, if I don't die.
I never thought of a Tardis cake, but my hubby would die of happiness if I got him one for his birthday!! Thanks for these!!
I just came across this video and thought you might enjoy it. Especially if you love Pinky and the Brain as much as I do.

The inside of the last one isn't SO impressive -- I'll bet it isn't even bigger than the outside!
It's incredible how that last cake actually looks bigger on the inside than the outside!
OMG! i am speechless. my mother has been making cakes since before i was born and isnt that good. and the fact that she did Doctor Who. OMG!
I'm pretty sure the dalek cake is from Charm City Cakes
This just made my day even better.
In a half hour 'Docter Who: Waters of Mars' is going to premire!!
Oh man, I need to have a cake like these. The perfect addition to any Dr. Who fan's collection!
Hello, I've just recently found your blog and I am really enjoying it. I hope you don't mind me having a look about...I do love cakes so it gets me through the office hours! :) Suzanne X
I like the Tardis style cake here. I got one form a supermarket recently for my son, but its was nothing like this! Look great and probably tasted delicious! Suzanne X
ok, only one thing can possibly suit the epicness of Doctor Who: *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!* (all teary-eyed) May the Wi-Fi God bless your soul.
Any one of these would be a geeks (or doctor who fans) dream cake! The ood, doctor, martha, tardis... so great...
I <3 doctor who! This completely made me super happy! lol does that even make sense? Well im inspired to go make a doctor who cake now! :)
Wow, I absolutely LOVE the one with Martha...wow, but that Abzorbaloff part reminds me of a really WEIRD episode. Well, I actually have Doctor Who to thank for getting me hooked on ELO, so "Love and Monsters" wasn't TOO bad. I love ELO!!
The Dalek cake picture posted at The Gallifreyan Embassy is from Imaginative Icing at 21 Lendal in York. I took a picture of the same cake when I visited in June 2005.

I"m in love with Doctor Who (especially David Tennent) so you just hit a soft spot. Keep posting Whovian stuff.
I got to see the Cyberman cake before they put icing on it (I was in the Truly Scrumptious studio/kitchen) while it was being built... it was freaky.
Holy moly those are crazy impressive! I made a Doctor Who cake too recently! (Though I'm super jelly of these!!) I'd love it if you checked it out :)
