Less Than Punctilious

Continuing my mini series on the wonders of punctuation, let's take a look at what happens when grammar goofs go horribly, seriously funny.
Drat. They're on to me.
Because no matter what your efforts, there will be times when you ask for a symbol and get a whole lotta trouble instead.
When a simple slash turns into a case of indecent exposure.
For clarity's sake, you might want to mention when a word should be plural.
Don't.
In fact, you should never spell anything out. Period.
Especially the actual period. Period.
And you know what they say about bad commas, don't you?
That's right: they always come back to bite you.
"Good night, good luck, must dash!"
- Edward R. Murrow with a full bladder
Thanks to Kristin D., Kristin S., Stephanie A., Doreen L., Kate A. for what I'm calling our "literal" period.

Actually, Murrow said "Good night and good luck" at the end of his broadcasts. It was even the title of that George Clooney film about Murrow!
I too have found myself praying to Saint Period at certain times of my life. The whole "fatherhood" gig just doesn't appeal to me right now.
Eccentrica Gallumbits!
"Good Night, Karma" would make a great name for an album.
"Good night, good luck, mustache?" lol
oh someone, please tell me, what are those swirly blue things under Edward R Murrow's name? Do they have an OFFICIAL name? I have a coworker who feels the need to write them under everything. so we have named them after her. but we want to find out, for clip art sake!
Speaking as a mathematician, I call 'em integral signs. Seriously though, there is a mathematical term for those things: Euler spirals (or Cornu spirals). As far as nontechnical terms, "curlicue" is the one that comes to mind, though it's fairly general. I think most people would get the general idea from "curly S".
When I saw the first one, it just made me think "Jen... if that's even your real name!"
We have NEVER made a cake like that! Our cakes are impeccable, and we don't take orders by phone.
Is it just me or does that last cake remind you of this... " good night Westly, good work, I'll most likly kill you in the morning". Also to Hannah A I'm 11! Never to young to be a wreckie!
