Deep Breaths

After yesterday's Baby Blue fiasco, I think we all could use a nice, relaxing post. Something safe, easy, and appetizing. Something that brings to mind happy places...
...and happy things.
So clear your minds, my friends, and let's think about happy little butterflies...
And cheeky little monkeys...
And sleepy little kittens...
And warm, friendly faces...
And, of course, giant, chocolate-dipped beetles:
See? All better.
Thanks to Claudia D., Dawna Z., Kimberly S., Tiffany, Lisa H., Brittany J., & D.L. for the breather.

Ew. Ew. and Ew.
Cake #1- good news!! The algae only eats organic material so the surfboards were saved!!
Cake #2- good news!! No one got you a present! We just chipped in for bail money.
Cake #3- good news!! You’re hallucinating.
Cake #4- good news!! It’s not actually in the room with you.
Cake #5- good news!! Your diet’s safe since black icing tastes so icky.
Cake #6- …I got nuthin’.
Cake #7- good news!! You only see these with too much tequila and shame! (I’m now singing “Hakuna Matata” for the fourth time with no end in sight.)

The second to last one looks like the Alot ... only eating cookies...it likes them a lot. :p
Wellll... I actually got #1 right away. It's in cursive, so the S would look a little like a D if done a little carelessly, which it was.
As for #3.... Whoever said a colon surrounded by baboon butts was totally right. I am now officially disturbed >.<
Does that first cake say Durf's up?? Lol it looks like that to me. Whatever a durf it I would rather not find out. And that poo butterfly while colorful would make me run like heck. Wow at least you didn't post clowns lol.
took me awhile, quite a whille, but i eventually got Durfs - no i mean surfs up, lol
The 'Friendly Face' looks like a deranged Cookie Monster!
After reading the previous comments, I think my fav is the 2nd to last. I like it ALOT! And like the previous commenter, I cannot see the words "a lot" (or "alot") without thinking of Hyperbole and a Half!
For whoever's curious, the inscription on the last cake says "otanjoubi omedetou" = "Happy Birthday" in Japanese. It's really not a wreck. The beetles are a bit weird, but they're pretty nicely sculpted and the inscription is very neatly written (correctly even!). It's totally not in the same class as the other wrecks in this post, which are all horrifyingly awful or gross except for the "beer/tequila/shame" one, which is merely quotably uncommon.
@Reiko, If you read the "What is a Wreck" sign you will find that the Beetle cake counts as a wreck, in that it unintentionally creepy(at least to people who don't like bugs.) I will admit it is a lovely cake and very well done. Its just that the beetles sort of creep me out.>.<
Alot raises brows.
You question Alot's sweet binge?
Come close. Ask again.
OK, the beetle cake is going to give me nightmares now.
Okay, I get that boys in Japan really like and prize those huge beetles as pets. I used to love catching "lightning bugs" or fireflies at dusk, and ladybugs (ladybird beetles) during the day. However:
1. Those particular specimens, assuming they are real, are no longer in any condition to be *pets*.
2. I have loved and cherished many pets, especially my dogs. Yet somehow the thought of a dog atop my birthday cake (either suffocated in chocolate, or alive with its undercarriage mashed into the cake and frosting squished between its little puppy toes) does NOT make me happy.
Perhaps I am limited by my own cultural perspective, but liking, even prizing, something does NOT mean I want it *on my cake*!
