What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

FYI: The Halloween Ghosts Are Coming Along Swimmingly

ATTENTION MINIONS:

Just a PSA to let you know your friendly neighborhood wreckerators have been MOST productive this week.

Check out what's "Coming Soooooon."

(It's actually supposed to read "Boooo," but my version is way scarier when you throw sperm into the mix, am I right?)

(Granted, almost EVERYTHING edible is scarier when you... sorry. I'll stop now.)

Yeah. My thoughts exactly, little guys.
(Look at their little arm floaties! D'awwwww. So adorable.)

Of course, as we ladies know, it only takes one:

Ghost, that is.

You know, to scare you.

It only takes one ghost to scare you.

Because these are all TOTALLY ghosts we're talking about.

Right, guys?

"Yep, only ghosts here!"

"We're super scary!"

"OoooOOOOoooo!"

"Anyone seen any giant bubbles we can head-butt really hard?"

"SHUT UP PHIL WE'RE GHOSTS"

Thanks to Bethany E., Erin W., Jen N., & Jennifer K. for the weirdest sex ed class ever.

Jen, shouldn't that PSA have said that the bakers were very "reproductive" this week? It seems like that would be more in line with the theme.

This post is hilarious! Am I just gross for thinking that first cake looks so tasty I could lick the chocolate frosting off the whole thing?

I take it that the little guys in #2 are carrying X chromosomes?

@AngelaS, no you are not, I love chocolate frosting. I gotta say the "ghosts" look very excited about Halloween ;)

Teehee! The attempts are always so cute... but of course... SO VERY WRONG! I love how blob like the little ghosts look in some, and others just look like spilled icing! Ah the intention is always so sweet at least ;)

Decorator #1: "Your ghosts look like sperm."
Decorator #2: "What if I put little arms on them?"
Decorator #1: "Oh yeah, that's better."

Some of the ones on the first cake look like they're on a mission from God.
That cake wasn't from Joliet, IL, by chance?

The "ghosts" in the second cake look like little pea shoots (pun totally intended).

To be clear: I'm not seeing arms, I'm seeing mammary hypertrophy.
