What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Fairy Tale Endings

WARNING: Today's post is not family friendly, on account of it being a little TOO "family friendly." IF you knowwuddamean.

Ah, children. So innocent. So sweet.

So blissfully unaware of how much their castle cakes look like a gaggle of man cannons.

I believe this is from the Netherlands. (Eh? Eh?)

Oh, oh! OR, if it were in Troy, then this would be a TROJAN castle.
(Get it? See what I did there? BOOYA.)

I'd say this customer got royally shafted:

[Zing!]

I mean, just look at that top tower: totally cockeyed!

[Pow! Zam! Whap!]

Still, this next castle cake really can't be beat:

[Sha-ZAM!]

Yep, that's some stiff competition, right there. Definitely has the upper hand.

[Rat-a-tat-tat! BzzzING! Ker-PLUEY! Eckie Eckie Eckie Eckie piTANG RoooBoing ezrowsurh]

Lauri, Lisa M., & Sarah H., they say "a man's home is his castle."

Frankly, I can't top that.

Also, 3 geek points if you correctly ID the Eckie Eckie line.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

What the heck happened to the first cake? Minus the, er, towers, that could have shown up on Sunday Sweets. Inquiring minds want to know....

TY Jen for a post that makes one stand up and take notice (insert smirk here). My guess on the Eckie Eckie line would be from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That would be the sound effect, when Roger sees Jessica and his eyes bug out. Just a wild guess here and I'm probably wrong, but what the heck. :-)

Good grief! Do these bakers not SEE what they have created? My eyes hurt. And clearly, that quote is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

"We are now no longer the knights who say Ni!"

July 10, 2017 | Unregistered Commenternancileigh

Pretty sure that's a line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail... spoken by the Knights Who Say "Ni".

July 10, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAmy

Ni! That's all I've got.

July 10, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterMamaTread

and as someone who was recently on stage to change the girl who played that knight who formally said "Ni!" in Spam-a-lot you would have thought I would have caught that right away...
guess I was too distracted by the large cakes. ;)

btw: your Knights who say Ni! helmets are up for a Henry Award (Denver's version of the Tony Awards)!

Even with glitter,

Nice job working a Monty Python reference in there. :)

We want...some PASTERIES! But not too expensive...

I was unaware that a grouping of man wang was known as a gaggle. I feel like I have learned something new today, and I can put one in the win column.

July 10, 2017 | Unregistered Commenterfobofobiac

I still can't believe that wreckerators aren't doing this on purpose lol.

July 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

If your Man Cannon looks like that, you should probably see a doctor.

Also, how can you toss off
a Python reference and not link to the video???

Is "gaggle" the scientifically correct nomenclature for a gathering of man cannons?

July 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterFrankN.Stein
