What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Pipe Dreams

"Okay, Tiger, you can do this. It's just an engagement cake, nothing to be afraid of.

"Here goes..."

"Steady... steeeeady..."

"Perfect!

"Now to finish up the delicate vine-work on this wedding cake."

[grunting]

"This next one calls for 'Cornelli Lace'. Huh."

"NAILED IT."

And for my piece de resistance, a magical Cinderella coach for the bride and groom's table!!

WITNESS THE MAJESTY OF MY CREATION!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

HAHA!

Heh. Aheh.

I should probably go back to the deli now.

Thanks to Jenna P., Jade C., Catherine C., and Vanessa S. for letting me play with clipart again.

1) I hope Meghan is happee they celebrated her clearing out the flower bed. (Or maybe it's code for a marijuana grower's group. That might account for the two misspellings and the shaky writing).
2) You try piping on a cake during an earthquake and see if you can do better.
3) Either a seamstress turned baker tried to sew the tiers together, or...this cake has worms.
4) Look! It's Hot Wheels drag racing while pulling a giant, orange toaster across the Bonneville Salt Flats. I don't know what world record they're trying for, but I hope they get it.

"Perfect" = perfect irony.

Cornelli lace? Are you sure it wasn't Vermicelli in Tomato? pretty sure it exists... oh lor, I'd rather have tomato than blood...

I've made a number of miniature/model horses in harness, and I'm always amused by how wrong people get harness. When I saw the 'go karts' put to Cinderella's coach my first thought was This is beyond cheating.

Explanations at last!

That can explain sssoooooooooo many wrecks.

At first I was like, "are those pipe cleaners?" and "those can't be tractors!" Unfortunately, I was correct both times xD

What were the chances of "Happee Weding Meghan" coming up on the repost the same week as the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan (or should that be Harree and Meghan?) was announced?

That pink and white one looked nice until some kid came in and scribbled all over it. Eek.

Oh, dear Heaven! That "cornelli lace" looks as if the decorator just cut up a bunch of red yarn and flung it at the cake! Maybe I've just been exposed to too many wrecks, but that toaster-cum-chariot doesn't look too, too awful. But what is pulling it? Matching Match Box cars! Good Grief.

*blink blink* A pumpkin coach pulled by sprint cars. *blink blink* All righty then.

November 30, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterTXRed

that pumpkin carriage with the hot wheels had to be an "on-purpose" joke.

I confess, I didn't know what Cornelli Lace was. Turns out, Google knows.

Thank you!! I've been looking for inspiration to combine gold pipe cleaners with dune buggies and here it is (in the "Cinderella" cake!).

I’m pretty sure those are REAL cosmos flowers on Cake #2. Not sure if they’re poisonous, but I have it on pretty good authority that they are NOT edible!

The pumpkin-coach/toaster has Homer Simpson's hair on top.

Inspired by Hagrid's "HAPPEE BIRTHDAE HARRY" cake is my guess.

Looks like someone used a silly string can, to decorate.

Thank you ever so much for the gut busting snorting laugh this morning. You have made my day!

Love the sprint cars pulling the little coach! For some reason they really put a smile on my face.
