What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Squeakity Squeakers Squeak

Thanks Julie A. for the cake, the cake for Kuzco, the cake chosen specially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's cake.

That cake?

And THIS is why we are middle of the road for education :/

Ah, how shall I do it? Oh, I know. I'll turn him into a cake, a delicious little cake, and then I'll put that cake in a box, and then I'll put that box inside of another box, and then I'll mail that box to myself, and when it arrives...I'll decorate it with flotsam and sprinkles and poo! It's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, I tell you! Genius, I say! Or, to save on postage, I'll just give him this cake...

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterSuBee

That is STILL one of my all-time favorite Disney movies!!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJeanette

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, this could be a cake commemorating the cutting down of a Christmas tree the family grew over the previous year, affectionately called "Tunder", or, in this case, "The Tunder". How better to celebrate the season than with cake?

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterdutchgirl

Oh yes, I so needed this today! A toast to the Cake Wreckers.... uh huh, uh, huh , uh huh, uh huh....

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKeri

Best. Post. Ever. EVER!

Proof that wreckorators are out to POISON US. With cake. (It saves on postage. )

@mindy1: And you know what happens to those who hang out in the middle of the road…

ZOOM! Roadkill.

Now I've got the Kuzco song in my head.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDB

Oh, thank you for the nod to one of my favorite movies!!!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterSusanD

So much wrong...
Misspellings
Misplaced "quotes"
Super-sized sprinkles
Inedible paper shards

and now I'm hungry for spinach puffs. So it's not all bad.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCybrczch

Now I have to go watch the movie again, thanks for the laugh :)

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDegera

I've been lurking for months and catching up on the archives, but this is the first cak/caek/cakke that forced me to post. Haiku Joy, perfect. As one who taught remedial reading and writing to *college students* for way too many years, this cake brought tears to my eyes. Well, tears of laughter, but still.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterZeldabird

Okay, color me thoroughly confused. What movie is that from? And, while I get that "feel" is spelled wrong on the cake, they put "tunder" in quotes, so that seems correct.

"Tunder... Tunder... TUNDER... TUNDERKHATS' HOE!!!!"

Just sayin'.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

Yea, Kronk!

That movie is one of Disney's most unappreciated gems!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterErica

Hit it with a HAMMA!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKaren

Ah, The Emperor's New Groove! Best Disney movie I almost didn't bother to see in theaters until I heard the word of mouth about it. Love it!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCarol

Thanks @DB ~ I didn't have that song stuck in my head until YOU mentioned it!

@Jodi ~ Emperors New Groove (because I'm SURE eleventy-seven others haven't answered your question yet)

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJodee

Hehehe...finally a movie reference to a movie I know and love!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNancie

@ Jodi - The movie referred to is Disney's "The Emperor's New Groove". It's a fantastically silly, underrated, movie with waaaaaaay too many fun quotes to mention. Get thyself to a store near you immediately & purchase said movie! Or just some cake. Whatever works for ya. :)

"Cake, me no likey!"

Best. Post. Ever!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterReagan

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterwildmaven

AHHH! Absolute, all-time-favorite, best Disney movie EVER!! Wish you had Kronk's theme music playing in the background on this post....

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterErin

Yzma looks a lot like Ren in that first picture.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterjbrecken

Why do we even HAVE this cake?!?!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBee

Ooh! I know! Yzma! Yzma's in your chair!
It's such a bummer that more people don't know this movie. No one gets it when I quote it (which is often).
Squeak squeak squeaken squee squeak. You owe me a new acorn.

Riiiiiight

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAmanda

Thanks for letting me know the movie guys! You all rock! And it just dawned on me that "tunder" was probably not how they actually said it in the movie, so now I get the problem with the misspelling/wrongly placed quotes there. Now I've gotta see this movie!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJodi

You owe me a new acorn.

Maybe they just wanted to save on postage?

"Let's take a look-see. Hate your hair. Not likely. Yikes. Yikes. Yikes. And, let me guess, you have a great personality." (For those interested, The Emperor's New Groove is available on Netflix instant. David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, and Patrick Warburton -- Amazing!)

Subee I love you!!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJessi

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNetasha

Who you callin' a ho(e)? Oh, a Tundercat. Never mind. Squeaky squeak squikity skweek.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterSkiGrrl

This cake throws off my groove! It needs to be sent down a raging river of death...or made to kiss a llama!

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterRupietupe

Oh come on, guys. It's just a cake with an atrocious Scottish (Irish...?) brogue. Even I can see that. Psssh.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCelidah

Ok, so I've always felt a kindred spirit to this blog, with its frequent references to Monty Python, the Princess Bride, Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, Harry Potter...all of favorites of mine. But today, in living color, we have references to a movie that, I swear to God, every line is a memorable joke (or a lead in to a joke.) The Princess Bride comes in a very close second in the category "Movies I've Memorized Every Line To, Because They Are ALL Funny" category. Thank you for making my birthday complete.

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLizzie!

I loooooooove Kronk! He is my favorite cartoon character ever! I so relate to him...

December 4, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLindarella

There's just something so wonderfully powerful and healing about laughter.... thanks so much for my daily dose! Love that one of my favorite movies is featured on one of my favorite blogs :)
