I think my favorite thing about this cake - aside from the insanely detailed Incredible family with their tiny little Incredible phone - is that this was for a 30-year-old man's birthday. Way to stay young at heart, my friend!

Nothing like a comic book cake to make any occasion of cosmic importance! They're all lovely, but my only comment is... where's the daughter on 'The Incredibles' cake?
Is it just me or does the batman in the tier many superheroes cake have boobs? Pecs tend to have a bit of a different shape than that, at least if the guy is as fit as batman is. Of course, with those chubby cheeks maybe it's batman 40 years from his prime. x3
I sure hope that Dash, Violet and E are somewhere on the back of that awesome Incredibles cake.

10.) I've been around 1.7 times longer than He-Of-Many-Vowels, and 'The Incredibles' is one of my favorite movies of all time.

I would totally bake a cake for the tour, except:
a.) It would likely be in the former category (and not necessarily on purpose).
II.) There's that whole 'opposite-side-of-the-freaking-continent' thing. But I wish you 'guys' all the best and I hope the tour exceeds your wildest expectations, providing you with the wherewithal to plan a Left Coast tour sometime this century. Of course, I'll probably be in Maine at the time...

Awesome cakes! But I cracked myself up while looking at the tiered super heroes cake. Going down the line, I was saying the heroes and got to Aqua man and said 'What's King Triton doing on this cake?" Bahaha... I guess I'm a Disney girl first.

i was thinking "where's wonder woman? or any of the other girl power gals?" then i kept scrolling... under-represented but done so flawlessly. i LOVE the cookie pops and i want that WW cake! (loving the multi-hero tiered one, too.) great that the bakery got so many of the diff't WW icons - of course with the 70s tv show being front and center! better than a sequin studded bustier, tho i'd take that too!
(maybe there's a girl power sunday sweets posting for another day? just sayin'...)

I hate to be a stickler, but you are always so good at fixing mistakes, especially geeky ones that I can't resist. Spider-man is spelled with a hyphen. Stan Lee wanted something to make him stand apart from all the other superheros...so of course he is now always misspelled.

I'm co-owner of a comic shop in Houston, so this post especially appeals to me! I shared on the shop's Facebook page too. We had some cute superhero cupcakes at our grand opening celebration this summer, but these cakes are in a class all to themselves. And speaking as a fangirl, I'm more than happy to see DC and Marvel characters sharing space! I love 'em all.

As for the DC and Marvel mixing, my fellow comix fans are having the kind of reaction I'd expect from the Marvel and DC lawyers, not fans. Yeah, I felt the same shaking of the universes when I first looked at the mixed cake and cookies, but come on, people, where's your sense of adventure? I for one would love to see, for example, Iron Man and Batman teaming up to outsmart the bad guys, and trying to one-up each other with their rich boy fancy technologies.
We'll never see it anywhere but in fan creations, more's the pity. So bring on the mixed sweet cakes!

I know this might seem odd but what really got me was Spidey's perfectly twisted lines following the turned neckline.

And I agree that baby Wolviewoo is adorable but I prefer to think of him in a certain particular hunkalicious style. Graphically. Very, very graphically.

Superhero cakes.. these are phenomenal! Yes, I know some might squick at the crossover cake of DC and Marvel... but you can't deny it's fab!
A Google search for 'Wonder Woman cakes' led me to some real stunners!
I came up short on Black Canary, Huntress and Power Girl. Would be awesome if a major blog or website devoted to comic heroes hosted a contest devoted to creating a cake inspired by a DC or Marvel heroine.

To those of you dissing on some of the cakes...please remember that the artists who designed the cakes read these comments too and it says right below this comment box ..."be nice". If you don't like someone's sculpting is it really necessary to air it here where it might be read by the artist? As for the Marvel and DC mixing issue...clients want what clients want. If a little boy wants us to mix Marvel and DC on his birthday cake, who are we to judge?

They are all soooo good, it is hard to pick a favourite. We do like the torn jeans on the Incredible Hulk one. That Superman cake is amazing.

My favourite superhero catchphrase? Well, it just so happens to be "SHAZAM!" as well. :p So we'll go with my second favourite: "It's clobberin' time!!"

Batman is not a superhero. I mean, what's his superpower? Being super rich? Cuz unless I missed him getting bitten by a bat and given like, superbat insight into the stockmarket, I'm lost as to why he considered a superhero. He just has nice expensive toys.
With all the commentary about superheroes working together for the common good, of course Lindsey knew about the mixing of Marvel and DC characters. But who cares about that? It's all American anyway. I would have liked some non-American superheroes. If Optimus Prime counts as a superhero, then why not Sailor Moon? Or heck, even Power Puff Girls would have done (not in their regular form, but the way they were drawn when they had a Japanese show) for multiculturalism. So when the girl power sweets are being searched for, don't forget to think outside the Marvel/DC box.
The tiered cake is giving me three reactions.
I'm mildly surprised Robin is there, but hey, it's Batman and Robin. They're a team.
I'm pretty surprised that we have Marvel and DC comics represented together. But okay.
But I'm still reeling from seeing Aquaman. I mean...Really? I'm not a big fan of comics, but I've heard he's generally considered kind of a joke. And from what little I know of him, I can understand why.
Seriously, if it was solely DC, I could understand. But you have Marvel to choose from as well! Wolverine, Iron Man, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four...
And you choose Aquaman? Really?
That said, it is an awesome cake, and I applaud the baker.
I also enjoyed the cake with the Incredibles on it. I'm going to assume that the other two kids aren't missing from the cake, it's just that Dash was running too fast to be caught on camera, and Violet was invisible. XD
Okay, I'll have to take you to task on the first cake. It doesn't really hold up to the rest of the cakes on this entry. It's just "okay" IMO. However, I think it's interesting that professional bakers are doing these cakes. Technically they are all illegal, as they violate copyright laws, and all of them could get sued by Marvel, DC, and Disney.
I totally read the Optimus section in Peter Cullen's voice.
I just want to be clear, I think these are all awesome, and I tried my best to be sarcastic when I made the comment of DC and Marvel being mixed (notice the channeling of "Comic Book Guy" from the Simpsons). I even put a smiley face at the end. So, there was definitely no "dissing" intended.
I'd LOVE to see Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne compete for "superhero with the coolest crime fighting junk" it'd be great. as for those who question marvel and dc together, it's happend in the comix and if a customer likes both. Hey, they're the one paying, they gets what they wants.
