What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Friday Favs 10/10/14

If you think I'm touching this one with a ten-foot-pole...

Not. Saying. a WORD.

Let's try something a little less potentially controversial, k? Like some nice, pastel yellow, powdered holes.

Wait.

What?

Marketing Guy #1: "I dunno, is there some way we can make donut holes sound both unappetizing and vaguely pornographic?"

Marketing Guy #2: Oh! And oddly specific!

I don't want to spoil any plot points on a thirty year old movie or anything, guys, but that's a father and daughter on this misspelled divorce cake:

"NOOOooOOOOOooOOO!"

And finally, she asked for a princess carriage.

What she got was a whole lotta 'splainin' to do:

Awk. Waaaard.

Thanks to Crystal R., Jennifer B., Elizabeth A., Anony M., & Casey D. for giving new meaning to the phrase, "My baby's getting married!"

Friday Favs 10/3/14

Some of my favorite submissions this week:

Kids today, with all their weird hobbies:

(PS - Oh! Hey! Think this is Isabella?)

Ariel's company wanted their vision statement written on a cake, but made the rookie mistake of e-mailing a cellphone photo of their office wall plaque as a reference. [shaking head] Tsk tsk, guys.
TSK TSK.

The result was predictable, but their vision statement makes it delightfully ironic:

Now if only we could empower technology to transform wreckerators.

One question, oh-so-many answers:

Let's... START... withhow... MUCH... I hear William Shatner... RIGHTNOW.

And finally, that awkward moment when you can't tell if the cake is for a baby shower or a bachelorette party:

For the record: I still don't know.

Thanks to Claudia R., Ariel D., Aubrae W., & Amanda F., who aren't happy to see me, but DO have bowling balls in their pants.
