Homophoning It In
...and some lost?
(I love that you can clearly tell the W is the "fixed" version. What do you think it said before? "Juan"?)
(Great, now I desperately want to see a "Some Juan Is Having A Birthday" cake. YOUR MOVE, Juans of the world.)
Now is the "Are" of our discontent.
How much you wanna bet the customer actually wanted a picture here?
I guess the wreckerator wanted to keep that visual under wraps.

They're Their There. Don't get upset. We mustn't get homophonophobic.
Aye can't sea watt yore torqueing about hear. Eye no there awl wright.
I think even if they did put a picture of a polar bear it would still look weird with the Autumn leaves around it.
Sigh. When did the entire population start pronouncing "our" like "are," anyway?

I love all of these cakes, but the very best part is the title! Awesome!

Of all the misspellings on these cakes, what's the one thing that really bothers me? The white leaves on the chocolate roses. It actually looks like they were selected and clipped out of the picture using Photoshop. But then again, chocolate roses and electric blue piping...
What's really amazing on the second one is that the wrecker got 'appreciate' and 'physicians' right but blew it on the three-letter kindergarten word.
Cake 2: Gather ye rosebuds while ye may…no, no…not the brown ones….. (all that brown frosting...I can't help but wonder...are the physicians proctologists?)
@Rachel CrazyMum: lol...nicely done!
I don't know...I think American Idle is rather fitting. On so many levels.
At first glance, I thought it said "Soru", which I thought would be a friend of Rika -- Kingdom Hearts joke -- but it turns out to be a thing in One Piece. Huh.
The instructions were mishandled, the wrong word was used, and even the words were off-center. Isn't theta shame.
What a sad commentary on our education system.
Those chocolate roses and the leaves are absolute perfection - awlmost makes me overleek the ererr.
The second cake (chocolate with chocolate roses) looks like a Costco cake which tells me the buyer probably wrote it wrong on the order form. The bakers are told to write it as it is written. Doesn't make it any less a wreck, but may shift the "blame." :-)

My thoughts exactly Zeldabird
I absolutely love this page. I know when I need some good, clean, fun in my life where to go. Thank you so much for such a fun page. By the way, I used to decorate cakes & still have everything I need to do so again, and I mean by everything, it is enough to fill a small UHaul, but my health has put a halt to me doing much of anything so instead I just enjoy pages as this.
Thank you once again,

Such a shame on that second cake! The roses and lattice are pretty nice!
What's even worse is that, on the last cake, the name of the show is not just written. It's supposed to be the real logo. How can someone LOOK at the logo to copy the design and STILL spell the word wrong? This makes me believe that it was on purpose.
Maybe Polar Bare is an environmental message about how we're losing our polar ice caps due to globbal worming.
It's the last month of the semester, and my little English teacher heart can't take it.
I'm trying to figure out what the Italian adjective "appreciate" could mean. It must be feminine plural, and the ladies are clearly physicians (so they're celebrating getting their MDs, presumably).
Eye halve know pay shins wit nekked polars; eye all ways ware a out fitt win eye am a round other polars irregardless howe worm it is! (So many great responses; I am still laughing and am probably way out of my league in trying to be clever!!)
@Mel: thank you, kind sir!
Lmao I loved the chocolate roses even if the spelling just wasn't quite all there. Sheesh. I guess no one has a spell check in the bakery anymore.
Zeldabird: I, too, am puzzled by the second cake, because they spelled 'Appreciate' and 'Physicians' correctly and misspelled 'our'. ???
If you are from a certain region of Virginia, "our" is pronounced like "air", and I definitely appreciate air. The same region of Virginia, however, would avoid the possible wreck of a cake celebrating the birthday of "Ant Mary" since everyone knows "aunt" is pronounced like "awnt" and not a six-legged insect that ruins picnics and makes your mother go ballistic when she sees one in the kitchen.
OK, it's 10:15 am on Saturday and I just discovered this post. Which tells you how busy I was yesterday.
Since I'm late to the party, my thoughts have already been expressed. However, I do have one more question: Why doesn't the frosting on Sadie's cake cover the front of it? Why is there a gap that shows the cake AND the filling?
Was someone too idle to finish it?
