What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

If The Shoe Fits...

...then you for SURE won't be getting far in it:

Thanks to Jennifer M. for that visual image. ("Heel, toe. Heeeeeeel, TOE! Heeeeeeel, TOE!")

And it's such a pity the baker didn't have, I dunno, some form of small-scale model to reference, isn't it?

Yeeeeah.

At least they could have scraped off the toe after they stepped on one of my fondant babies . . .

I swear I thought the beige thingy was a band-aid stuck to the bottom of the shoe.

Oh sheesh. I hope the customer got their money back on that cake lol. I prefer the tiny chocolate shoe and purse to that wreck of a cake. At least I think those tiny things are chocolate. This time that wreckerator has no excuse lol.

Is this for Steve Martin's "Cruel Shoes"?

I saw this and thought maybe it was supposed to be a combination shoe/gun for a female secret agent.

I don't get the problem. I think they did a great job making that gun look somewhat like a shoe.

it looked like the shoe stepped on a band aid at first...
