And Now, a Musical Intermission
We here at Cake Wrecks know how much you all enjoy singing along with our various song parodies. However, this past week reader Simon S. went the extra mile by actually recording himself singing one of our song parodies - and it's so fabulous John immediately set out to make a music video with it.
So without further ado, we invite you to fall in love lose your lunch all over again, and be our guest:
Thanks again to Sharyn, our lyricist, and to Simon for the amazing pipe work. ;)

the best!
And credit given to Alan Menken, to boot.
Wow.
Wow ... it's awesome to see so many people enjoyed it!
I almost forgot to give credit where credit is due: the piano is from a karaoke track on Youtube. The original is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVWqyfb7cnI -- I wish I were talented enough to sing and play at the same time ... so I'll keep practicing!
I hope this is the start of a beautiful collaboration. Simon's gorgeous voice really makes Sharyn's lyrics come alive. I cannot wait for Cake Wrecks: The Musical. Thanks for all the inspiration, Jen and John (thoJen)
Awesome. Love it! Probably wont go on my daughter's favourites list like wrecky cakes, but will go on mine. Great work.
That was AWESOME!!! Made me laugh until Coke squirted out of my nose.
Bravo!
Encore!!!Encore!!! (doing the Kermit flail)
This should be a regular feature on CW!!!!
:::flingling roses onto the stage:::
Cried. Lol
Simply excellent!!
OMG, they hurt my eyes!
And this is why I LOVE cake wrecks! Well done Sharyn and Simon!
Amazing work-simon and sharyn should team up and do a dvd of parody songs and videos :P
Yeeaaahh! (Kermit flail)
My son watched the video and went, "That . . . was . . . a-MAZE-ing!"
I'm singing this song in my play and now im going to start laughing two seconds in when i think to my self "cakes so full of grime" i love this! But and this isn't an insult truly i love this but the name of the song is beauty and the beast although be our guest is funnier since it reafers to food :)
though I adore this with all of my heart (and my digestive track) being the musical buff that I am this song is Beauty and the Beast not Be Our Guest.
But it was awesome!
Simon has a gorgeous voice... <3
[dreamy sigh]
Cannot. Stop. Giggling.
Well done, Simon! You do have a lovely voice, and it contrasted hilariously with the words. Reserving my tickets now for the Broadway musical!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So glad to see I wasn't the only one doing the laugh/cry thing.
*Stands, applauds, throws chocolate roses*
Bravo, team, Bravo!
Love the video! The lyrics, the voice, the cakes, the laughing carrot jockeys at the beginning! All of it was just so wonderful and hilarious!
Great job Simon! I got chills!
So moving. So touching. So wrecky.
I'm all verklempt.
I must watch again. ;-)
Ok, I think I am in love with Simon. Where can we hear more of that voice?
When my husband and I get around to writing Silence of the Lambs the Musical, remind me to hire Sharyn for the lyrics and Simon for the vocals. John and Jen, will you join our stage and camera crew?
This made my day. Props, guys. Total props.
wouldn't this be the perfect opening to your remarks during Cake Wrecks the Next World Tour? Whenever & wherever that is?
(And I'm praying that Toledo is on your list, when you get around to making one!)
So utterly fabulous!!!!
EWWWW... You need to market this through Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. Watch this and you'll never be hungry again!
Fabulous! Always love Sharon's lyrics and hearing them sung to music is over the top! My kids, 3 & 4 years old, heard the music and came running to see what was up. Almost every cake that was shown, they went 'ewwww'. Even my little girl ewww'ed the Princess cake!!! Lol
awesome. you have made my day
I would pay SOOO MUCH for that chest burster cake. It's amazing.
I missed this post over the weekend and finally discovered it today - AMAZING!
Bravo to Simon for the amazing vocals! Brava to Sharyn for the awesome lyrics! Three cheers to John for the fabulous video to go with the song! And a standing O for Jen, for being the inspiration for all this genius!
Cake Wrecks the Musical - I'm there! When does it open on Broadway?!!?
I wish we had a Like button - I'd use it for the post, and lots of the comments...
So beautifully sung! That almost makes those cakes not look like festering piles of... I don' t even know what.
I had to stop it playing because I was starting to retch. I think I might have thrown up on the laptop had I watched anymore. Somehow the syrupy song opens up mental passages otherwise hardened to the existence of those cakes. Or maybe it was just the unrelenting parade.
OMG - that was incredibly AWESOME. And sorry, I still think that Trek cake is a winner.
What's a little alarming is how quickly I recognized so many of the cakes! I was muttering "gnarly poop fingers of doom" and "grindylow spawn are grapes" and recalling how the British creator of the horrible second toe cake gushed in the comments at how much the customer liked the "pus writing" on the cake board . . .
Why do all the cakes look like they have guts or intestines? Nasty! But job well done on the song!
Does anyone else realize that he happens to be singing tale as old as time not be our guest.... Just saying
NOT COOL! I seriously almost lost what was in my stomach. So mean to the pregnant woman at 6 a.m.
