A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.
Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

This reminds me of the part in the Ramona Quimby book series (I think it was Ramona and Her Mother), where Ramona squirts an entire tube of toothpaste into the bathroom sink. If that's the look the Wreckerator was going for, I'd say he or she nailed it!
I squealed at the reference! and blushed....I love Inigo Montoya...
Well, looking for a bright side, it doesn't say "weiner."
I am sad for that football =(
I'm thinking a family "friend" provided this. Every time someone tells me they don't want me to also make the groom's cake because a "friend" is giving it as a gift, I have a little giggle behind my hand.
Gross, it looks like toothpaste!
Wow I sent this in about a year ago and just randomly searched "winner" just now. I haven't been to this site more than a couple times since i submitted that one but I'm glad to see it made it on CakeWrecks!
I got plenty more to send so let me dig for some other winners!
there are college football teams that wear baby blue- University of North Carolina, for ex.
Im just wondering how much icing was used on this cake. Looks more like a mound of icing than a cake!
My bf would be happy-he loves icing; he likes it more than the cake.
How many Peeps must
die for our cake traditions?
One more, for bald spot. . .
Man, I want to lick that frosting...wouldn't ruin it, I don't think.
@Naomi - Love it! Are you a biologist in real life or a student taking Slime Mold Mycology 101?! :-) Either way, *perfect* explanation for this cake - WIN!!!
